Manchester City are considering a summer move for West Ham United ace Declan Rice, according to reports.
The midfielder is impressive in the Hammers’ top four and is now an England regular under Gareth Southgate.
The Times says Pep Guardiola’s side will only replace the 22-year-old if Fernandinho chooses to leave the club at the end of the season.
The Brazilian continues to be key for City and has been monumental this season as he aims for a famous hat-trick, having previously won the Carabao Cup.
They could also win the Premier League this weekend and then face a Champions League final with Chelsea later in the month.
Fernandinho, 36, has yet to reveal where he sees his future beyond the end of the current campaign, with City ready to offer him a 12-month extension.

“I will define my situation after the end of this season,” Fernandinho told TNT Sports Brazil. “The club respected this decision that I made.
“I’m very focused on the last part of this season. The club and I respect each other a lot. We’re going to sit down and talk after May 30th. “
Rice is on Guardiola’s wishlist if he leaves, but Chelsea and Manchester United love the defensive midfielder as well.
Two things could work well against City, but with a possible £ 100million price tag suggested by David Moyes being prohibitive, while Rice will have to share playing time with improving Rodri as well.
The Spaniard was signed for £ 62.6million and is starting to play the role after acclimating to the Premier League in the past two seasons.
Rice has been in good shape both off and on the pitch, providing good laughs on talkSPORT while discussing nicknames at the Sports Bar with Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy.
Meanwhile, Tony Cascarino compared the talented young Englishman to Liverpool ace Fabinho and Chelsea colossus N’Golo Kante.
When Rice was injured recently, he told talkSPORT: “When you look at, say, Liverpool, and you had Fabinho playing that role for Liverpool and doing it really well – sit down and let the others move on.
“I would put N’Golo Kante in that range, which is what Declan Rice is doing for West Ham.
“He sits down, he chooses things, he can see things, the players trust him around him and he does the A, B, Cs of football – the simplistic things that affect a team – very well.
“He’s keeping the ball, so it’s a big blow; it is this N’Golo Kante, it is this role of Fabinho that he does brilliantly.
“The fine lines, the small margins make huge differences.”
