Kate Abdo’s boyfriend Malik Scott joined the CBS Sports Golazo gang for dinner and they were all smiles despite the recent awkward events.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher landed himself in hot water when he made an inappropriate joke about presenter Abdo’s loyalty.
This joke naturally fell flat, with fellow experts Thierry Henry and Micah Richards even being surprised by the remark.
Abdo expertly addressed the comments the following evening during CBS Champions League coverage, likening him to an annoying family member.
Boxing coach Scott threatened to get physical with ‘obnoxious’ Carragher.
But it seems there are no hard feelings between them as everyone went to dinner together and the boxing coach shared a picture on his Instagram account.
He captioned it: “Pre-match meal with the best sports panel.”
Scott, who is Deontay Wilder’s trainer, was in London for the announcement of the Bronze Bomber’s fight in the Matchroom vs Queensbury 5v5 tournament.
Abdo also spoke about Carragher’s comments in an interview with iFLTV.
She explained: “What Jamie said came out of nowhere. It was just a quick line. It was meant to be funny, sometimes they hit, sometimes they don’t. That one went a little sideways. I felt a little hurt but it is what it is You move on We talked about it, we’re all fine, there’s really nothing to say.
Clarifying the situation between Scott and Carragher, she added: “Malik doesn’t want to fight Jamie. Malik and Jamie are cool.
“I understand why Malik said what he said, but I also think if you read the full extent of what he said, he was very respectful.
“He just said, you know, as anyone would say, if anything that crossed the line was said in the future, I would like to have a man-to-man conversation. I think that’s one thing normal.”
“I think the headlines that [said] “I will introduce myself physically”: that was a bit of an exaggeration. But Malik is so secure as a person. Nothing shakes him.”
