Antonio Conte has shown that there is unlikely to be any lasting bad blood between him and Thomas Tuchel by posting a cheeky message on social media.
The managers were both sent off after the final whistle in a 2-2 draw between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Earlier in the game, Conte and Tuchel were both booked after Piere-Emile Hojbjerg netted Spurs’ first goal.
The Blues manager was unhappy the goal went through and his counterpart was quick to protest and they touched heads briefly creating a scrum between the two benches.
Tuchel and Conte shook hands as they walked in opposite directions at the final whistle, and when neither man refused to let go another clash ensued. They were both kicked out by Anthony Taylor.
The Spurs manager, however, made light of their feud with a fun Instagram post in the hours after the game.
Tuchel had walked the touchline when Reece James put Chelsea back in front, very Jose Mourinho style.
Conte posted an excerpt to his social media with the caption, “Glad I didn’t see you…tripping you would have been well deserved.”
Tuchel and Conte also moved to laugh at their two confrontations immediately afterwards, particularly the full-time handshake that led to their red cards.
“I don’t have any problems, and I’m sure he won’t either,” Tuchel said.
“We both fought for our teams, and it happens.
“It’s so tight here, such an intense game. The two canoes are very, very close.
When asked if Tuchel enjoyed the clash overall, Tuchel replied: “Yes, and I think he enjoyed it too, it was nothing bad.
“It’s Premier League football and both managers got involved today because we were both fighting for our teams.
“Nobody was insulted, nobody was hurt; there was no fight or anything.
“It’s bubbling but nothing too bad. Today it was part of the game.”
Spurs boss Conte echoed Tuchel’s words as he tried to play down the coaching squabbles.
“Honestly, the referee showed me a red card but he didn’t understand the dynamics of what happened,” Conte said.
“It’s okay, I have to accept it but it’s not a big problem.
“If there is a problem, the problem is between me and the other coach.
“I think what happened, we enjoyed it.
“Next time I’ll be more careful, just shake hands and solve the problem. I’ll stay on my bench, he’ll stay on his bench.
“And no problem about that. It would be a shame if for this situation we miss the next game.
