SHANGHAI, May 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Huawei launched its all-new FusionSolar strategy and all-scenario Smart PV+Energy Storage System (ESS) solutions at the 16th SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai. These offers demonstrate Huawei’s commitment to driving the global transformation towards carbon neutrality.
In his keynote speech, Hou Jinlong, President of Huawei Digital Power, highlighted the accelerated energy transformation from fossil fuels to renewables, driven by carbon neutrality, energy independence and business value. Together with partners, Huawei Digital Power integrates digital and power electronics technologies, as well as data and energy flows, to provide low-carbon, all-scenario products and solutions to customers in the whole world. The goal is to build an innovative power system infrastructure that advances the PV and ESS industries.
Next Generation FusionSolar Strategy Unveiled
Chen Guoguang, President of Smart PV Business at Huawei Digital Power, unveiled the all-new FusionSolar strategy. The strategy focuses on 4T (Watt/Bit/Heat/Battery) technology convergence, setting high-quality industry standards with partners, and improving its six ecosystem partner systems. Chen also introduced Huawei’s future-oriented Smart PV+ESS solutions.
In large-scale factory scenarios, Huawei has set the global trend of smart string inverters over the past decade. In the future, the company will develop grid-forming smart inverters which integrate PV+ESS+Grid+Management System to make PV a major energy source. Huawei’s partnership with China Resources Power in Qinghai, China, led to the world’s first application of converters forming an intelligent network, laying the foundation for future industry standards. Additionally, Huawei has assisted ACWA Power and Power Construction Corporation of China build the largest PV+ESS microgrid project in the world by Saudi Arabiaproviding clean electricity to a city of around 1 million people.
In commercial and industrial (C&I) scenarios, Huawei promotes technological innovation to establish active safety as the norm, helping customers reduce carbon emissions. Over the next decade, Huawei’s unique solution “Optimizer+PV+ESS+Charger+Load+Management System” will enable campuses and factories to achieve 100% energy self-sufficiency.
In residential scenarios, Huawei aims to optimize home energy consumption through key technologies, such as off-grid power backup, intelligent home energy planning by AI Energy Management Assistant (EMMA), and home energy management. Interconnection of Virtual Power Plants (VPP). These efforts will enable energy independence and household self-sufficiency.
Launch of new FusionSolar products for all scenarios
Zheng YuePresident of Utility Smart PV Business, Huawei Digital Power, introduced the FusionSolar Smart PV&ESS solution, featuring grid formation, low levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), high reliability and full digitalization.
The Huawei Smart PV&ESS solution works in both on-grid and off-grid scenarios, delivering 40% higher renewable energy capacity and 30% lower LCOE than a conventional solution. Its 5+4 multi-level security design provides comprehensive protection from PV to ESS, from components to systems, and provides robust cybersecurity. Its complete digitization allows end-to-end detection of every component of a power plant.
Zhong Mingming, President of C&I Smart PV Business, Huawei Digital Power, launched the C&I Optimizer+PV+ESS+Charger+Management System 2.0 solution. The solution, combining optimizers, solar string inverters, ESSs, chargers and management services, provides smart energy efficiency, smart energy consumption, smart reliability assurance, smart O&M and active safety . It reduces customers’ energy consumption costs through smart technologies for energy efficiency, power consumption, reliability assurance and O&M. The solution also ensures active security at the device, asset and people level.
Zhou Tao, president of residential smart PV business, Huawei Digital Power, launched the residential smart PV 4.0 solution. This 1+4+X Optimizer+PV+ESS+Charger+Load+Management system offers electric range, intelligent control experience and active safety. It improves roof utilization by 10-30%, roof energy efficiency by up to 35% and energy self-consumption by 10%. Integration of residential smart PV solution with All-In-A smart home provides real-time information and holistic control of energy data, promoting home electricity self-sufficiency. The solution also prioritizes active safety, with improved response speed and backup performance at the component and system level.
