Former Married at First Sight star Jake Edwards has called for resigning with his girlfriend Sophie Guidolin, a source close to the couple has confirmed.
The reason for the break-up is still unclear, but Daily Mail Australia understands that no third parties were involved and that no cheating was suspected.
Personal trainer Sophie, 32, had been the target of trolling since her public posting with Jake, 33, last month, which may have strained their romance.

“ It’s sad because they seemed to be really in love, but they just couldn’t make it work, ” the source said.
The breakup seems to be amicable, because the exes are still following each other on Instagram and Jake has kept photos of Sophie on his account.
Meanwhile, Sophie has deleted Jake from her profile, but it has nothing to do with their separation.

She had deleted all of Jake’s photos from her account before they broke up because the messages were spammed with abusive comments.
The CEO of the charity has now returned to Melbourne, having moved to the Gold Coast to live with the mother of four.
The couple first met on March 10 and started dating weeks later.
