Software updates are seldom easy. For example, MacOS Big Sur users reported that an update turned their MacBooks to bricks in November 2020. This time around it looks like several users are running into a screensaver bug on their PC Mac.
According to MacRumors, users have complained that their Mac computers often get stuck on the screensaver. Currently, older Macs and current Macs powered by Apple M1 are both affected by this bug. The reason is said to be the fast user switching feature, which many Mac users have enabled.
An example of the screensaver bug
In case you didn’t know, Fast User Switching allows users to switch between user accounts on Mac computers without having to log out. When this happens, sometimes a screen saver is activated and gets stuck on the screen. Users should use methods such as manually closing and reopening the cover to return to the login page. Of course, they can also turn off the feature to prevent the bug from occurring.
The issue has already been reported to the Apple Community Forum, so a fix should be in the works. But have any of you encountered this particular problem? Let us know if you have a fix for this in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news.
