Modric looked devastated as the cameras followed him down the tunnel after the loss to Argentina.
However, there was an emotional moment when retired Argentine Aguero pushed Modric aside to console him.
It shows the respect for the midfielder among his professional colleagues, especially given the contrasting scenes after the Albiceleste’s quarter-final victory against the Netherlands.
Aguero became embroiled in a heated argument with Dutch striker Wout Weghorst, who scored twice and netted a penalty in the shootout.
But when it comes to Modric, there is nothing but respect.
