Luis Diaz suffered another injury setback during Liverpool’s mid-season break in Dubai.
The Colombian winger suffered a knee injury in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal in October, a blow that saw him sidelined for a long time.
While relieved the player didn’t suffer a more serious knee ligament injury, Diaz has been working hard to get back into shape ahead of the season resumption.
The Reds were then boosted by the news that the 25-year-old would travel to Dubai as part of their 33-man squad for their mini-break ahead of the season resuming over the festive period.
He was expected to speed up his recovery in Dubai, but he has since been kicked out of the camp.
It remains to be seen exactly what the nature of his injury is, with Klopp revealing that his injury is the only bad news for the Liverpool squad.
He told the club’s website: “Everything is fine. [fitness-wise] with the boys who are there.
“What is not good is that you have to see with Lucho [Luis Diaz].
“He felt something and we need further assessment there, but other than that they all look really, really good.”
Liverpool return to action with a Carabao Cup clash with Manchester City on December 22.
Then they make their return to the Premier League when they travel to face Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
