Lucy Watson gives fans a glimpse into family life as a new mom to son Willoughby as she shares family photos of her first child with James Dunmore

Lucy Watson has given an insight into family life as a new mum by sharing adorable snaps of her baby boy with husband James Dunmore.

The former Made In Chelsea cast member, 33, welcomed son Willoughby in March, but later described the birth process as “long, with complications”.

On Instagram on Sunday, Lucy shared a photo of postpartum snaps, including a sweet photo of her with her sister Tiffany as they both nursed their sons.

Baby Willoughby could be seen staring widely at Lucy and James’ dog as the pair bonded, while the couple put on a show of love in a selfie.

In several shots, Willoughby takes a nap on his father’s chest as the family adjusts to life with a little one.

Lucy also shared a photo of her and her sister Tiffany, who gave birth last June, sitting on the sofa, both breastfeeding their little ones.

Other photos showed the little one being cuddled by his grandparents.

And Lucy also showed off her incredible postpartum figure by posing for a mirror selfie in leggings and a white cardigan.

She captioned the post: “6 weeks postpartum. some of my favorite moments.

Lucy has since shared her birth story in a lengthy social media post, admitting she opted for care led by a private consultant rather than the National Health Service as she went through the different stages of her pregnancy.

“I didn’t have a birth plan at all, I just trusted my consultant – I thought she was amazing,” the TV personality told TikTok followers earlier this month.

“I always told him from the beginning, whatever is safest, I don’t care what I do. I don’t care if I relieve pain, I don’t care if I do a C-section or a vaginal birth, whatever is safest for me and the baby is what I’m happy to do.

She added: “I said the one thing I really didn’t want was an emergency C-section. I never wanted to find myself in a situation where I was in an emergency situation. It was the one thing I really didn’t want.

But Lucy’s worst-case scenario came true after a routine 39-week scan revealed the baby’s umbilical cord had become wrapped around her head.

The TV personality was advised to go to hospital the next day and was given two choices: be induced or undergo a C-section.

A second scan the next morning confirmed the cord was no longer wrapped around the child’s head, meaning passing it through the vaginal canal would be less risky.

Encouraged by the news, Lucy – who had already had a contract for over a week – opted for a conventional birth.

She recalls: “They broke my water, it wasn’t fun… I was gushing fluid for four hours, and not just a little bit, I was gushing buckets full of fluid. I don’t even know where it came from, but every time I moved there was a gush.

After contracting for six hours without pain relief, Lucy opted for an epidural after learning she was still only five centimeters dilated.

Fifteen hours after going into labor, the child’s head was out of her cervix, but it was swollen and Willoughby was unable to force his way out.

“It got to the point where his heart rate was really high,” Lucy said. “I was exhausted, the alarms were ringing in the hospital, in our room, you could see that everyone was really worried.

“The alarm went off for a while and they came in and said we have to get him out, he’s not doing well, he’s in distress. It’s a life or death situation and we have to going out now we have to do an emergency c-section.

Watson admitted she initially thought she might lose her son and credited her husband James with being her rock throughout the ordeal.

“James was amazing,” she said. “He never left me. He was with me, talking to me and comforting me all the time.

The influencer announced in September 2023 that she was pregnant with their first child and called the baby a “little miracle” after a three-year battle to conceive.

Shortly after giving birth, she shared photos of her and Willoughby as she lay in her hospital bed.
