Lucas Torreira faces a long fate on the sidelines as the Arsenal midfielder suffered a broken ankle.
Torreira was at the end of a heavy challenge from James Bolton in Portsmouth’s FA Cup loss on Monday and had to be stretched at Fratton Park.
And Arsenal have now confirmed the extent of the injury, but no deadline has been announced for its recovery.
“Prolonged fracture of the right ankle in Portsmouth (a) Monday,” said an Arsenal statement. “Awaiting other specialized exams that will determine the recovery plan.”
