Liverpool’s nightmarish form is well demonstrated by the fact that their top scorer since the World Cup break is Leicester defender Wout Faes.
The Reds are yet to win a top-flight game in 2023, with Saturday’s away loss to Wolves leaving them tenth in the table.

Mohamed Salah has scored just one top-flight goal since football returned on Boxing Day
Since Boxing Day, Jurgen Klopp’s side have scored just six goals in as many Premier League games – failing to find the back of the net in their last three games.
It’s a run that has lasted more than five hours since their 3-1 defeat at Brentford early last month.
And no player has scored more than one goal, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Stefan Bajcetic all on a lone strike.
Darwin Nunez – signed on a club-record transfer last summer in an £85million deal – hasn’t scored in the league since November.
And January signing Cody Gakpo is yet to open his account for the Merseyside outfit since joining from PSV for an initial £37million.
In an incredible statistic, the Foxes Faes centre-back is Liverpool’s top scorer since the World Cup thanks to his two own goals on December 30.

Faes had a night to forget at Anfield on December 30 where he scored two own goals
The 24-year-old Belgian spent a night to forget at Anfield after inadvertently diverting the ball twice into his own net in the first half of the Reds’ 2-1 win.
Liverpool know they can’t afford to falter in their next game against rivals Everton if they still dream of finishing in the top four.
As things stand, Liverpool are eleven points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.
Klopp’s side will have a chance to close the gap on the Magpies when they take on Eddie Howe’s men at St James’ Park on February 18.

Nunez has struggled for form since arriving from Benfica last summer
It’s not just in attack that Liverpool have problems, as they continue to dispatch goals at will.
And speaking to talkSPORT after his side’s loss at Molineux, Klopp aimed for his back line after conceding twice in the opening 12 minutes.
He said: “The first 15 minutes I would say they decided the game.
“I saw in the first 15 minutes that we were too passive, not active and the goals we conceded were horrible because we can defend them both.”
Klopp added: “The first 15 minutes I can’t explain, there’s no explanation.
“It’s not allowed, it’s a Premier League away game and we start like that, it’s not allowed.
“For everything there is an explanation in the world, it’s 100% clear, but not for those 12 minutes, I don’t have it.”
