Liverpool have contacted UEFA and Real Madrid following the awarding of their Champions League Round of 16 tickets at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Reds host Los Blancos at Anfield for the first leg of the tie on February 21, before the second leg in the Spanish capital on March 15.

Liverpool have only received 1,800 tickets for a ground which, although under renovation, still has a capacity of 60,000.

According to the competition regulations, Jurgen Klopp’s side are entitled to around 3,000.

Spirit of Shankly, the official Supporters Trust and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association have also asked the club to raise their concerns over the allowance supposedly including only four wheelchair bays.

“LFC is committed to having as many supporters as possible in stadiums for European away matches and continues to develop its systems and processes to fulfill allocations at every away match,” a statement from the LFC said. club.

“The club fully understands the impact of this initial decision by Real Madrid on the fans and the challenges involved in arranging travel for the match.

In 2014, when the teams met in the group stage, Liverpool received 3,700 tickets, even though the Bernabeu was then at full capacity.
