If you paid attention to those Verzuz battles, you might recall that Bobby V and Pleasure P tried early on to make their own unofficial Verzuz. They then canceled it after Swizz contacted them. However, I’ve been advocating for a Bobby V Verzuz for over a year now, even laying out the case with his 20 hits to defend it. While I love each of the artists in this battle Ray J and Bobby V vs. Sammie and Pleasure P Verzuz, I really think Bobby V is more successful than all of them.
That said, all these artists deserve their flowers. They have all been in the business for over 20 years and have a number of successes.
Ray J, who is of course Brandy’s brother, for young people reading this, may be the most unlikely member of this crew, but Ray J has his share of success. He has 4 solo albums, 1 TV soundtrack, a 2019 EP and a joint mixtape/project with Chris Brown! Few artists have that resume and a smash hit under their belt with “One Wish.”
Pleasure P has a slew of hits with his team of Pretty Ricky and he has also released several solo albums. “Boyfriend #2” is perhaps his biggest solo hit.
sammy is nothing to play with itself. He was just a pre-teen when he first burst onto the scene in 1999, but came back with his self-titled album in 2005. Since then, he’s been releasing hit singles with multiple EPs, mixtapes and albums along the way. He has just completed his last national tour with Eric Bellinger.
And I already told you everything Bobby V. From his appearance on stage in 1996 with the group Mista, for the song “Blackberry Molasses”, to his feature films with Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Ludacris and Nicki Minaj among others, Bobby has the most complete discography of any artist. are happening tonight.
