What to expect Friday night
Friday night is the last night of preliminary action for the Chili Bowl. After the draw, drivers will be placed into one of eight heats, where they can earn streak points for their performance. At the end of the elimination races, the top 40 drivers in points will be placed in the qualifying A races, where they will again have a chance to earn more passage points. The top 16 drivers in combined pass points will lock into Friday night’s A-Main.
The rest of the field will be split into C-Hands and B-Hands with the option to move up to A-Hand.
Friday night preliminary party has been “Justin Grant’s Night” for the past few years. Grant has won four of the last five preliminary races on Friday night.
