Europe won the Ryder Cup at Valderrama in 1997

Valderrama, host of the 1997 Ryder Cup, is among the new venues to host LIV Golf Series events in 2023.

El Camaleon de Mayakoba in Mexico – a longtime PGA Tour venue – and regular host of the Sentosa European Tour in Singapore are the other new courses.

The Valderrama event is scheduled for the first weekend of July, when The Belfry hosts the British Masters.

“These venues have hosted iconic moments in golf,” said LIV Golf General Manager Greg Norman.

“We’re excited to create new traditions for the sport while delivering a top-notch fan experience on some of the best courses in the world.”

In July, LIV Golf announced that it was expanding the series from eight tournaments to one League of 14 events in 2023, with a price tag of $405m (£336m).

El Camaleon, which is due to host the LIV tournament from February 24-26, has been hosting a PGA Tour event since 2007.

LIV players Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia are among former Singapore Open winners on the European Tour in Sentosa, which will host an LIV tournament in April.

Valderrama, Spain has been a regular stop on the European Tour since 1988. It will host its first LIV event two weeks after the US Open and three weeks before the Open.
