Lexus brings track-focused IS, LX and GX Overlanders to SEMA

Lexus arrives at the 2022 SEMA Show with six vehicles showcasing the brand’s product modification capabilities. Models run the gamut from track-focused machines to land-ready SUVs.

DSPORT’s Lexus IS 600+ takes the current IS 350 F Sport and pushes power to over 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts), which explains the name of this model. To achieve this performance, the sedan runs more boost from the turbos. Revised fuel and ignition curves make the most of the adjustments. A Samsonas six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters replaces the stock gearbox.

The IS 600+ focuses on being a track car. It gets KW dual-tuned coilovers and RC F carbon-ceramic brakes. The hood and trunk are now carbon fiber parts. The sedan wears a widebody kit from Artisan Spirits and rolls on 19-inch five-spoke wheels.

Inside there are a pair of Sparco racing seats and the rear seat is gone. A MoTeC Motorsports color screen replaces the usual dashboard. A four-point roll bar protects the driver.

Lexus is offering two very different versions of the LX 600 at SEMA. The Alpine Lifestyle Concept carries a Dissent Off-Road rack system for carrying extra gear, like Yeti GoBoxes, coolers and camping chairs. There is also additional lighting from Rigid Industries. The truck is fitted with carbon fiber fender flares that cover 20-inch Vossen wheels with Bridgestone All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Inside, the rear cargo area houses a TrekBoxx Expedition System with room to haul more stuff.

The LX 600 Urban Concept is not made for off-road. Annex Marketing lowers the ride height and adds an Artisan Spirits body kit with exposed carbon fiber elements. HRE wheels have a Satin Bronze finish in the center and a gloss black rim. The titanium exhaust pipes have a blue tint.

The GX 460 Overland Concept from Cruiser Outfitters is another SUV for off-road adventures. It has an Old Man Emu suspension upgrade that increases ground clearance and wheel travel. A CBI front bumper includes space for a Warn winch and recovery points, in addition to improving the approach angle of the vehicle. CBI skid plates and rock sliders protect the underbody.

The roof rack holds a Yakima tent and other gear. Opening the rear hatch reveals a set of Goose Gear drawers containing Kaon racks and a table. An ARB refrigerator keeps food and drinks cool. There is also a camping stove.

Finally, the Lexus Electrified Sport concept is on display at SEMA. The brand first showed it off at the end of 2021, and the EV made its public debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The automaker first showed the model to people in the United States during Monterey Car Week.
