Cal athleticsThis year’s Big Game between Cal and Stanford is different from the rest.
Cal offered fans the option to purchase “virtual tickets” for the event, and 26,000 people accepted the offer, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the booths are empty of real fans. Instead, they were replaced with the type of cardboard cutouts that filled Oracle Park during San Francisco Giants games. 1,200 Cal fans are reported to have their likeness at Memorial Stadium.
Including … Leonardo DiCaprio?

Cal athleticsSitting behind Oski and a few rows in front of a kitten perched on a bed, Leo is in the stands cradling a Cal hat. It’s unclear who was behind the cut, but given Leo’s college football fandom in good weather, he’s unlikely to have shelled the “Wolf of Wall Street” money for it.
The image in the stands is from a photo in which DiCaprio inexplicably wore a Cal hat during an Islanders NHL game in 2016.
It’s just one of the many varsity baseball caps he has worn over the years, which The Ringer has chronicled in an elaborate range in 2018. In that ranking, the Cal hat was far from winning the title. from Leo’s Greatest Headwear, an honor that went to the Michigan Wolverines. The winning photo was a paparazzi photo that caught DiCaprio rubbing elbows with Rihanna at Coachella.
At the time of publication, Rihanna has not been spotted at the Big Game.
