Leonardo DiCaprio would play Frank Sinatra in a biopic directed by Martin Scorsese.
Sources say Variety that the filmmaker plans to shoot his Jesus film and Sinatra biopic back-to-back, with the former expected to begin production later this year with filming locations in Israel, Italy and Egypt. DiCaprio is rumored to star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, who will play actress and Sinatra’s second wife Ava Gardner.
Variety adds that Sinatra’s daughter, Tina, is the one who controls the late artist’s estate and that she has not yet “[give] his blessing for the film. Apple is also reportedly interested in maintaining its relationship with Scorsese following their work on Killers of the Flower Moon, but Sony is looking to acquire the film.
