Leonardo DiCaprio enjoyed his Saturday in Los Angeles.

The 47-year-old Titanic actor kept it casual, sporting a black crew-neck t-shirt with a pair of light-coloured shorts.

The veteran performer added a matching hat which he positioned upside down on his head.

Leo, from the City of Angels, finished his ensemble with a pair of white lace-up sneakers.

He shook a silver chain around his neck and donned a pair of dark, square-shaped sunglasses.

The movie star had a scruffy shadow of beard along the lower half of his face, with a prominent goatee outline.

Earlier this month, Michael Mann revealed he wanted DiCaprio to star in a 1990s James Dean biopic, but put the project on hold because Leo looked too young for the role.

In an interview with Deadline, the director, 79, admitted he put the project on the back burner to instead focus on the 1995 film Heat, which starred Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Val Kilmer.

The Oscar winner described Project Dean’s script and Leo’s potential performance as “brilliant”.

“I found a guy who could play James Dean, but he was too young. It was Leo. We did a screen test which is pretty amazing. I think he must have been 19 at the time “, he recalls.

DiCaprio, of course, went on to an illustrious career in Hollywood, earning the respect of critics and peers alike.

Last year, he starred in Don’t Look Up, a film to raise awareness of the impending effects of climate change, a cause DiCaprio is passionate about in his real life.

He has starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Meryl Streep and many other big names.

DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence represented astronomers Dr. Randall Mindy and Kate Dibiasky respectively.
