Stuart Holden believes Tyler Adams could leave Leeds United for a Champions League club at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old was in exceptional form for the USA side which held England to a 0-0 draw at the World Cup on November 25.
Pundits got lyrical about him and the Fox Sports pundit went further and said he could be on his way out if he ends the season the way he started it.
Going through Twitter, Holden wrote: “Tyler Adams was outstanding at the World Cup. If he finishes the Premier League season the way he started it, he will join a top team in the Champions League. What a player.
Adams has taken his game to the next level this season and we believe that’s thanks to Jesse Marsch and the wonderful coaches at the club.
Of course, he strikes us as a player who deserves to play in the Champions League, but the Whites won’t sell him after one season.
He moved to Elland Road in the summer for £20m and has been seen as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips despite not being a similar player. [Guardian]
He got off to a flying start and arguably has been the best signing for Leeds over the past two years.
If he wants to leave and a Champions League club intends to pay him, Leeds will surely demand no less than £50million.
No club participating in Europe’s elite competition who are considered a bigger team than the Whites will find this price too high to pay.
He is a young player with a good contract and he will also offer huge resale value. It is therefore an important asset not only on the pitch, but also for the financial stability of the club.
