Stuart Holden took to Twitter to rave about Leeds United star Tyler Adams saying that if he continues as he does, he has every chance of leaving – and joining a club competing in the Champions League.
Adams, 23, has been superb for Leeds this season – starting all but one game, the 2-0 loss to Leicester. The American star was incredible in wins over Liverpool and Chelsea, already a fan favorite due to his work-rate and aggressiveness.
His form continued at the World Cup. He was easily America’s best player against Wales in a 1-1 draw, and played a crucial role in stopping England on Friday – a game that ended 0-0. Adams earns a lot of praise at home.
Adams has just joined Leeds. Holden, a former United and Premier League midfielder, took to Twitter to give his verdict on the American ace. He claims Adams could join a Champions League club sooner rather than later.
Holden: Leeds star Adams could join Champions League club next summer
It would be a blow. Adams is arguably Leeds’ most important player right now. He knits everything together and although he is considered the defensive screen, he is also more than capable of creating from deep.
He’s good enough for a Champions League club. But, if, as Holden claims, his form continues through the season, then Leeds need to think about tying him down for the long haul. Even more than his current contract which ends in 2027.
But as it stands, Adams is a Leeds player. He has a long-term contract at the club and if anyone wants to buy him, you’d think he’s already worth double, if not more, the £20million fee we paid for him this summer.
