Leaked documents for the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster have reportedly been mentioned as part of the rumors, along with information about PlayStation Studio’s upcoming plans. It’s worth noting that we haven’t been able to independently verify the authenticity of the spreadsheet, and that would potentially be a pretty easy thing to fake. Some of the names linked to the page currently work at Sony, although that doesn’t necessarily confirm anything on its own.
In fact, the document – which is almost certainly out of Europe if legit – doesn’t reveal much. It appears to be dated 2021 and references the aforementioned remaster of Aloy’s inaugural adventure, as well as the multiplayer spinoff of Horizon, which is listed as a service game and will also be coming to PC. Other projects, such as Liverpool-based Firesprite’s survival horror Heartbreak, have already been mooted by various job postings; It will also come to a PC.
In fact, judging by the document, there are several upcoming PlayStation projects planned for PC, including a multiplayer game from the London studio, which currently doesn’t even have a codename. Ballistic Moon’s Bates-tagged project is also listed for PS5 and PC – and we first reported on the game earlier in the year. There’s also mention of a new game from Kojima Productions, Codename Ocean – which is rumored to be a sequel to Death Stranding.
One project that caught our attention is a vehicular combat game called Redstar, which is listed in development at Doom Allstars developer Lucid Games. We’re relatively confident this is new Twisted Metal, although we understand that production was handed over to Firesprite earlier this year, which might help move the doc along. An open-world game from Sackboy: Carbon, a major adventure developer Sumo Digital, is perhaps the only real surprise on the page.
In fact, even if the document is original, there is not much substance. Many projects were already known through various job listings and leaks over the years, and we don’t know how much information has changed since the spreadsheet was created. Perhaps the only thing that’s clear, as mentioned above, is just how committed Sony is to bringing gaming to PC, with the platform holder planning ports for most of its releases these days. -this.
