James Harden and his 100 pound weight loss
Now Harden, who will start the season with the Philadelphia 76ers, has fans going crazy with his transformation. The Beard just lost 100 pounds this offseason. When asked by the media how he accomplished this feat, he responded with proper nutrition and rest.
Harden was criticized last season for being out of form. He also spoke to the media about his diet this summer: “And then for me, it’s building muscle and gaining more muscle mass – which I’ve always had.”
Harden averaged 21 PPG, 7.1 RPG and 10.5 APG last season. But even after having a solid season, there were times when he just couldn’t hold his own for his team.
The trio of Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were formed in hopes of forming a super team at the Brooklyn Nets. But injuries and players missing games for personal reasons really derailed their chances of making a splash last season.
Here are some of NBA Twitter’s reactions to Harden’s transformation ahead of next season:
Eventually, the Nets pulled the trigger on the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade. Now, Harden is paired with 76ers star Joel Embiid. Embiid and Harden certainly have a chance to become a great double for the 76ers offense. Harden can score, rebound and create great chances for his teammates on offense.
