The “Alternative Storytellers Campaign” spans eight special episodes of short stories and new series
LOS ANGELES, September 18, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month which began on September 15THE TELEVISION (www.latv.com), the nation’s leading English-language entertainment network for Gen Z and Latino millennials and America’s second largest Hispanic-focused digital network, announced a full slate of specials to air throughout the month.
Highlighting the legacies of past and present Latino artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and entrepreneurs, the first-ever edition of LATV’s “Latino Alternative Storytellers” campaign will honor 20 individuals who are carrying on the Latino tradition of storytelling and are making an impact on Latino Americans across the United States. From cooking to theater, fashion workshops to music studios, artists from all mediums will share how their stories fit into a broader Latin American narrative.

“The Q Agenda” September 21
One of the most important aspects of storytelling is representation, and this episode’s guests do just that with vibrant authenticity. Director Aitch Alberto and lead actor join our Hispanic Heritage Month special. Reese Gonzalez from the upcoming film “Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe”. Ahead of the film’s premiere at Outfest 2023, they sat down with “The Q Agenda” to share their seven-year journey to adapt this popular book for the screen.

Musical artist Jay Wheelerowners of Guisados Armando de la Torre Sr. and Jr., director Marissa Chibasactor Bobby Sotoand fashion designer Brenda Equihua Share how their approach to craft and art makes each of them Latino alternative storytellers. In this Hispanic Heritage Month special, the hosts of “Get it Girl” discuss the different terms that refer to their community (Latino/a, Latina, Latinx, Hispanic). Featured in this episode is La Libreria, Célène Navarretethe first bookstore Los Angeles with only books in Spanish for children and adolescents. We’ll also play a fun game about words we didn’t know were in the Spanish dictionary – you don’t want to miss it!
