If you’ve been eagerly awaiting a UI update that brings Nvidia’s Shield TV closer to other Android TV devices, we’ve got some great news for you. Conversely, if you were hoping that Shield TV would continue to avoid updates like bigger content recommendations, well, we’ve got some unfortunate news for you instead. Either way, a new update is on the way for Nvidia’s line of Android TV streaming devices.
We saw similar updates coming to other Android TV devices in February, with UI tweaks taking some notes from the Google TV variant of the software. New additions include a Discover tab with content recommendations, which serves a similar purpose to Google TV’s For You tab. Elsewhere, a new Apps section should let you see more options at once.
One of the more notable additions, however, is the appearance of content recommendations across the top half of the home screen. In the screenshot below, you can see a suggestion to watch Loki in a location where earlier versions of Android TV showed relatively empty space.
Nvidia Shield TV users are expected to start seeing the update roll out to their devices this week.
