Wilson – who led all artists with six pre-show nominations – won New Artist of the Year first, beating a field of competition that included HARDY, Walker Hayes, Cody Johnson and Parker McCollum.

She said in her acceptance speech, “If you know me, you know I’m rarely speechless. And I feel pretty speechless right now. I will say this one here is for that little nine year old girl who wrote her first song, who knew in her heart that was what she was meant to do.

She continued, “It’s been 11 years since I’ve been here in Nashville and haven’t taken no for an answer. This here is for all those who believed in me and a little for those who didn’t even believe in me.

Wilson thanked his lord and savior Jesus Christ as well as his family and his small town of Baskin in northeast Louisiana.

The Things a Man Oughta Know singer said she “definitely didn’t expect” to win female singer of the year – beating Underwood, Lambert, Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce – in her speech acceptance for second prize.

“I look up to every single woman in this category,” Wilson said of her country music colleagues. ‘They all influenced and inspired me.

“And I’m so honored to even be nominated for that.”

She dedicated the honors to her father Brian Wilson, who was on hand to cheer her on after a health battle that saw him spend two months in an intensive care unit: “I’m so excited to have you here with me. “

Wilson was also nominated for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year.

Wilson also performed at the event, hosted by Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan.
