The Rock is called the most electrifying sports artist on the planet for a reason. He wants to make sure everyone in the building is entertained. It also shows how much effort he puts into selling during his matches.
While discussing The Great One on The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic hero explained how some people are complaining about the sale of The Rock. It’s not that he doesn’t sell, but some think he sells too much. Angle must have explained that this is all part of Dwayne Johnson’s job.
“You know, a lot of people think he sells too much; that’s why he does it. He sells because he wants everyone to be home, every fan of the arena, twenty thousand people; he wants that little girl at the top of the rafter to see his sale, his face. So he makes it visible to everyone, and he exaggerates. This is how you are supposed to do it in pro wrestling. A lot of people under-sell. Dwayne had it.
Of all the people Kurt Angle put in his dreaded ankle, he had to give The Rock credit for selling him the best.
“The Rock was the best, and that’s because he let everyone see his face. A lot of people think he sells too much, but I think he’s right. You know, his style is to sell. It’s what it does best and that’s why it’s so effective. Sure, you know, he can promote better than anyone, but, you know, selling in the ring is what sells tickets, and he does it well.
We’ll have to see if The Rock will fight again. We can only hope that he has at least one more big game left. His film projects and other commitments really prevent him from taking that kind of risk. If he’s able to fight again, you know The Rock is going to give it their all.
