Kristin Davis shines in a plunging gold dress at the NYC Ballet Gala… after And Just Like That co-star Sarah Jessica Parker left early due to the death of her father
Kristin Davis brought the glamor of Hollywood’s Old Golden Age by attending the New York City Ballet’s Fall Fashion Gala.
Wearing a sparkly, plunging dress with a cape by Monique Lhuillier, the And Just Like That… star looked radiant as she shimmered in Fred Leighton jewelry.
The 57-year-old attended the event to celebrate her close friend Sarah Jessica Parker, also 57, who was being honored for her longtime charity work with the ballet. Parker, however, abruptly left the event due to a “devastating family emergency” which was later learned to be his father’s death.

Parker and his family released a statement to People on Thursday that said his departure was due to the sudden death of his stepfather Paul Griffin Forste.
“Our family is sad to announce that after an unexpected and rapid illness, Paul Giffin Forste passed away yesterday at the age of 76.”
The statement went on to say that the star’s father-in-law was “surrounded by the love and gratitude of his beloved wife Barbara of 54 years and his children, including Sarah Jessica Parker.”
The tenth annual event was to honor the Hocus Pocus 2 star for her “vision and leadership” as vice chair of the ballet’s board of directors. Despite Parker’s tragic loss, the star-studded evening went down with Davis staying at Lincoln Center to recognize his co-star’s charitable work.
Glam slam: She also wore a pair of platform heels in the same gold color as her dress
Kristin epitomized elegance and poise as she wore her hair down and enhanced her petite figure with gold platform sandals by Sarah Flint.
She was styled by Samantha McMillen, who also recently worked with Anna de Armas.
The Sex and the City star then posted an image of her flawless look on Instagram and paid tribute to her grieving friend in the caption. “Dear @sarahjessicaparker was honored for her extraordinary vision and commitment to New York ballet,” she wrote.
Davis attended the event with her and Parker’s close friend Michael Patrick King. King served as director, writer and producer of Sex and the City and its two film adaptations. He is also the creative force behind the reboot of Sex and the City And Just Like That….

Parker and Davis are known to be very close, with Kristin declaring her love for Parker after receiving a surprise call from Sarah Jessica while appearing on Watch what’s happening live! in 2019.
‘We love you!’ she declared, blowing kisses at the camera as Parker finished the call. They spoke to Andy Cohen about their shared love for Moroccan cuisine and how they ate together every day while filming Sex and the City 2.
Charity work is something the two actresses have in common as Kristin has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency since 2017. Her work with refugees has taken her to many third world countries, including Bangladesh, Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa. ‘Awwww thank you to all the wonderful people I’ve met around the world!’ she responded on Twitter to UNHCR’s birthday post this year. “I love our job and can’t wait to get back on the road.”
