Best-selling author Chandler Baker will adapt his own novel for MGM and Plan B Entertainment.
Kristen wiig is set to play in the stepford wives-thriller esque The husbands for MGM and Brad pittfrom Plan B Entertainment.
Release scheduled for August 3 The husbands follows Nora Spangler, a successful lawyer and overworked mother who goes looking for a home in Dynasty Ranch, a lovely suburban neighborhood where she meets a group of powerful women – a tech CEO, a neurosurgeon, a therapist award-winning and best-selling author – with enviable supporting husbands.
When Nora agrees to help in the wrongful death case of a resident involving the woman’s husband, she is drawn into the lives of the women there and discovers a plot that may explain the secret to having it all … one that is worth it. worth being killed. The upcoming novel explores how far a wife will go for a little more help from her husband.
Deadline reports that the bestselling author Baker Chandler (Whisper Network) will adapt his own novel, marking his debut as a feature film writer. She will also produce the film, which Wiig will produce alongside Pitt and his Plan B partners. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.

Meanwhile, Wiig recently co-wrote, produced, and starred alongside the Lionsgate comedy. Barb & Star Go in Vista Del Mar, and she also played Cheetah opposite Gal gadot in Wonder Woman 1984. Wiig is currently co-writing an untitled Disney movie about Cinderella’s evil stepsisters with Annie mumolo, with whom she shared an Oscar nomination for writing Bridesmaids. Wiig is currently filming Peacock’s Mac Gruber series with her former SNL casting mate Will Forte, and she also lends her voice to the next installment of Universal’s Despicable Me franchise. The husbands sounds like a strong project for the actress, and I can’t wait to see who MGM brings in to direct this film, especially since I imagine they will go with a director for this one.
