In the last episode of Keep in touch with the The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian West tearfully recounted the events of her flight to Paris as her sisters Khloé and Kourtney sitting beside him and listening.
At 4:30 a.m. on October 3, 2016, Kim was resting in her hotel room in Paris after a night out with Kourtney and stylist Simone Harouche. As she lay in bed, the 36-year-old mother recalled hearing footsteps pounding the stairs, thinking it was her sister and her friend who were returning drunk from the party. When she called, there was no answer.
“And then at that point, when there was no response, my heart started to get really tense. I knew something was wrong, ”she said.
Looking out the door, the reality TV star saw two men dressed as police officers holding the janitor – who had a key to the star’s room in his hand – and handcuffing him.
“What I heard talking to him after was that they said, you know, ‘Where’s the rapper’s wife? Let’s go up to his room! in French, ”Kim recalled.
She noted that the concierge acted as their interpreter because neither she nor the armed men could understand each other.
Janitor told her to give them her ring – a $ 4 million gift from her husband Kanye Where is. The robbers then dragged the star and the janitor to the hallway up the stairs, where Kim realized the men were armed.
“They dragged me down the hallway up the stairs,” Kim tearfully explained to her sisters. “It was then that I saw the weapon as clear as day. I was sort of looking at the gun, looking at the stairs.
Fighting back tears, Kim explained her thought flow while determining an escape route.
“I was like; ‘I’ve got a split second in my head to make that quick decision,’” she explains. “Am I going to run down the stairs and get shot in the back? upset to think about it. Either they’re going to shoot me in the back, or if I get there and they don’t, the elevator doesn’t open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m f—ed. There is no way out. “
The men then brought her back into the room, as she begged the janitor to tell them to spare her life because she has a family. One of the men then put duct tape over her mouth and grabbed her legs, pulling her towards him at the front of the bed. Kim said this was a moment she started to mentally prepare for.
“This is the moment when they are going to rape me. I completely prepared myself mentally, and then he didn’t, ”Kim said.
The man then placed duct tape around his legs while holding a gun to his head. She then believed that they were going to kill her.
“I just prayed that Kourtney’s gonna have a normal life after seeing my corpse on the bed, ”Kim said of her final thoughts. The last thing she says she thought was, “I have a family. I have my children, my husband, my mother, I will not make it. I know how these things go.
To her surprise, the men picked her up and placed her in the tub before fleeing with her stolen goods.
Shortly after, Pascal, his bodyguard, Jenner and his sisters ran to be by his side after receiving a phone call from a frantic Kim. The family immediately left Paris for New York, so that the shaken star reunited with her children and West. West, who was in the middle of a gig when he got the news, immediately stopped his show to fly away to be with his wife.
“It has been the most devastating thing to watch one of your children fear for their life, thinking all the time that they are going to die with two young children,” said a moving one. Jenner. “For the rest of us, the thought of losing Kim is emotionally overwhelming and difficult to overcome.”
Trying to determine how the theft happened in the first place, Kim said she believed she and her family were being followed throughout their trip.
“What I think happened now after thinking about it so much is that there was probably a group of guys following us the entire trip. Snapchat that I was home and everyone was dating, so I think they knew Pascal dated Kourtney and that I was there all alone. They had this window of opportunity and just gave it a go, ”Kim said.
In her police report, Kim reported that approximately $ 10 million in jewelry was stolen. The reality TV star’s possessions listed as stolen included Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, two Cartier diamond bracelets, a gold Rolex, a diamond and gold Jacob necklace and her second engagement ring from West.
Ahead of the Sunday episode airing, Kim tweeted her thanks to fans and her family for their support throughout the ordeal, saying the episode was going to be “very difficult” for her.
