Super Bowl LVI is just weeks away, and automakers are throwing the hype train for their expensive ads. Kia has unveiled the first teaser for its ad which will air during the big game on Sunday, February 13, and it shows off the all-new Kia EV6 all-electric crossover and the little robotic dog that could play alongside it.
“Kia’s 13th Super Bowl ad is the centerpiece of a comprehensive marketing campaign that will include digital, social, outdoor and a very special new CSR program in partnership with the Petfinder Foundation,” said Kia America vice president of marketing, Russel Wager.

Kia doesn’t specify what or who we should expect to see in the ad. However, Kia also announced that it has formed a partnership with the charity Petfinder Foundation, which could explain the robot dog in the teaser photo. The two will provide “Kia Animal Adoption Grants” to help shelter animals find their forever homes. More details will arrive before the big game kicks off tonight.
The Kia EV6 should start arriving in dealerships in a few weeks, so putting it front and center in advertising makes perfect sense for Kia. The EV6 is the brand’s first model launched as part of its new Plan S strategy focused on the electrification of the future. The car is available in several configurations, although the spiciest flavor EV6 GT which develops 577 horsepower (430 kilowatts) and 546 pound-feet (740 Newton-meters) of torque.
When the EV6 goes on sale in the United States, it will start at $42,115, including the $1,215 destination charge, but not the federal tax credit. The inclusion of the dog is fascinating as Hyundai Motor Group bought Boston Dynamics at the end of 2020, and the company previewed its robot-filled vision of the future. Perhaps we will see an evolution of this dream in a few weeks?
