‘The world should let them recover’: Kevin Hart thinks fans have to ‘get away with it’ after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at Oscars

Kevin Hart once again commented on the feud between Chris Rock and Will Smith.

While appearing on the Drink Champs podcast, the 43-year-old Jumanji star said artists should work out their differences in their downtime away from the public.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star infamously slapped the Fargo star on stage at the last Academy Awards, which took place last March.

Speaking: Kevin Hart publicly expressed his opinion on the feud between Chris Rock and Will Smith during the latest episode of the Drink Champs podcast, which was released earlier this month

Asked about his opinion of Smith, 54, he said he personally admires the Independence Day star for his role in advancing African Americans in the entertainment industry.

He said, “Will Smith is the reason the idea of African Americans attached to global intellectual property is normal. The studios bet on more color tracks because of the work that, Denzel [Washington] were doing in the beginning, right?

The Cop Out star added, “You need the faces that give universal feedback.” So I’m not going to shit on Will and act like he isn’t and isn’t that guy.

Hart went on to remark, “People make mistakes, and mistakes they should have time to recover from.”

The comedian went on to say that the performers should be left alone to mend their differences and that the Suicide Squad star would greatly benefit from a return.

He said: “Let Will get over it. Let Chris resume his normal work. Let two men be men and let them decide if they want to. If they do, they do. If they don’t, they don’t.

“It’s not the world’s problem anymore, it’s Will and Chris’s problem. Let them take care of it. The world should get out and let them recover,” he said.

To be fair: Hart said ‘it’s not the world’s problem anymore – it’s Will and Chris’ problem’. Let them take care of it. The world should get out and let them recover’

Hart was also asked about his views on the slapping incident as a married man, and he said Smith’s outburst was an expression of his devotion to his wife.

“There is no world where a woman who is with a man does not know the level of respect her man demands for her and wants for her,” he said.

Hart previously spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said Smith should be given a chance to publicly redeem himself.

“People are human and as humans we sometimes make mistakes. So it’s not about talking about the past, it’s about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward,” he said.

The performer also said he hoped “both of them would find a way to find some solace in that and move on from it.” I just like good energy. I like to see people be the best.

He added: “I always like [Smith], I still love Chris, and, you know, you can’t judge a person on just one thing. In the end, life goes on and people grow, so give him the opportunity to do that.
