Kelsey Jones Named Head Basketball Coach at Leon High E! News UK


LEON COUNTY, Florida. (WTXL) – Leon High School has announced Florida A&M University alumnus Kelsey Jones as its new head basketball coach.

While at FAMU, Jones served as a graduate assistant for the FAMU women’s basketball team, taking on roles in player development, scouting, community relations, and practice squad responsibility. .

“Leon High School has truly found itself a gem in Coach Jones,” said former FAMU women’s basketball head coach Kevin Lynum.

The Apalachicola, Florida native previously worked at Franklin Jr./Sr. High School as the boys’ assistant basketball coach.

Leon High School staff have announced how excited they are to welcome Coach Jones to the school.

“I look forward to what he has to offer our students on the basketball court and in the classroom,” said Michael Bryan, Principal of Leon.

According to Riley Bell, director of Leon Athletic, Jones is the right candidate for children, parents, fans and the entire Leon community.
