“Hollywood was not a place I wanted to raise my children”: 80s sex symbol Kelly LeBrock details living in nature for 25 years
More than 35 years after roles in The Woman in Red and Weird Science made her a sex symbol, Kelly LeBrock opened up about why she decided to give up the Hollywood lifestyle.
The 61-year-old actress and model decided to quit the entertainment industry in 1996 after her divorce from Steven Seagal, and has lived in the wild for 25 years.
While Kelly hasn’t completely given up on acting and is currently promoting her new movie Tomorrow’s Today, the redhead has explained that she can’t stay in Hollywood to raise her family.

Speaking to Fox News, Kelly explained that her children with Seagal – daughter Annalisa, 34, son Dominic, 31, and daughter Arissa, 28 – were the determining factor in her decision to move out.
“Hollywood was not a place where I wanted to raise my children. My divorce was very high profile, ”LeBrock began.
“And I’m just not a Hollywood girl. Never been. I never really liked the attention. I wanted to get dirt in my nails and be outside.

LeBrock – who has lived on a ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley since the 90s – added, “So I quit my career and moved into the wilderness where I lived without a TV for 25 years. I did my best as a single mom.
“I could always go back to my career. I could never go back to my children. Some people can do both. But I already had the fame and I was done with it.
“I became famous when I was very young and it didn’t do me any good. It just caused trauma. Being famous is not for everyone, ”she said.

She is also not a fan of social media, adding that it has “gotten out of hand.” I don’t want to be part of it.
She added that she did not have a computer, although she did have the Internet, “but that is a disservice”. And I like it like that. I am very happy.’
LeBrock was first a model as a teenager before making her film debut as Charlotte, the main character in the 1984 romantic comedy, alongside director Gene Wilder.
She went on to play a woman literally created by two high school nerds in the 1985 comedy Weird Science, cementing her status as a global sex symbol.
