Katy Perry wasn’t at the MTV VMAs last night, but she had the event in mind and gave fans a candid and honest look at herself just days after giving birth to her and the daughter of Orlando Bloom, Daisy, their first baby. Perry posted a mirror selfie of herself in her Medela nursing bra and Frida Mom underwear with a VMA gif above her. “Hair n makeup by @exhaustion,” she wrote, poking fun at the credits of traditional celebrity fashion items. Famous New Moms don’t often share such an intimate snap as Perry did here:
Perry and Bloom announced the birth of their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom on Wednesday. UNICEF officially broke the news, sharing a statement from the couple. Perry and Blook said:
We float with love and wonder over the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter. But we know we are the lucky ones and not everyone can have such a peaceful birthing experience as ours. Communities around the world still experience a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn baby dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk due to the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and drugs that prevent disease. As parents of a newborn baby, it breaks our hearts as we empathize more than ever with struggling parents.
As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know that UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing everything in its power to ensure that every pregnant woman has access to a trained health worker. and quality health care. To celebrate the heart we know our daughter already has, we’ve created a donation page to celebrate the arrival of DDB. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start in life and reinventing a healthier world for every child. We hope that your ♥ ️ can flourish with generosity.
With gratitude – Katy and Orlando
