Katy Perry would be willing to add another country star to the roster American idol judges after leaving the reality singing competition at the end of this season.

After seven seasons as a judge, Perry announced his departure from American idol during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel live.

“I think this will probably be my last show, my last season for Idolshe told Kimmel earlier this year. “I mean, I like Idol such. It connected me to the heart of America, but I feel like I need to get out and feel that pulse, that pulse at my own pace.

And now, like American idol reduces the competition to 14 singers, Perry returns to Jelly rollduring his appearance on the show last week (April 8) and stressed that he would be his ideal replacement.

“I have to say, Jelly Roll was crazy when he came on the show,” Perry said after the show’s recent live episode (April 15) via E! News. “I was convinced [by] everything he said. He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I could go back to church for him. He could sell me anything.

She continued: “I love him. To get one of these guys [current judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan] more Jelly in the series would be amazing. I love you, Jelly! »

Perry also praised Jelly Roll for her honesty, stating what she wants from her replacement: “I want a truth teller. I want someone who isn’t afraid to speak the truth with grace.

Host accompanied by Jelly Roll Ryan Seacrest and judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan in Hawaii last week, where he served as a guest mentor to young, burgeoning singers.

Olivier Steelea 2023 Idol competitor who made a duet Need a favor on stage with Jelly Roll during last year’s season, commented on the American Idol Instagram page: “I can say from experience that this man is a great mentor!!!”

Jelly Roll appeared on last season’s finale of American idol for a duet with Steele, in addition to a performance of Save me with Lainey Wilson.
