KATY Perry’s American Idol outfit has been slammed by fans online and fellow judge Luke Bryan.
Katy, 39, is on the American Idol jury with Luke, 47, and Lionel Richie, 74.
At the start of Sunday’s three-hour episode in which the Top 20 were announced, host Ryan Seacrest, 49, introduced the judges.
The three musicians came out from the back of the stage to the applause of the audience.
After getting closer to the audience, Luke turned to Katy while squirming and shaking his body towards her.
She then raised her arms and moved her body back and forth.
Their dance moves made sense once they were finally seated with their backs to the audience.
Ryan commented on how Luke’s pants got tighter with each episode while Lionel’s got looser and looser.
Katy then chimed in and said, “And Luke said I looked like the inside of a car wash.”
The comment made Luke let out a loud belly laugh.
It then became clear that their previous dances imitated the movement of a car wash.
The reference was so relevant that Katy posted a photo on Xformerly known as Twitter, where she was photographed at a car wash.
THE CUP
The basis of the pop singer’s outfit was a floor-length black sheer dress with a shimmering silver crisscross design.
What made the dress so unique were the giant gray and black pom poms scattered all over the dress.
The pom poms were larger than a softball and placed in a line on his left side.
On her right side, they were scattered across the dress, from her shoulder to the floor.
Her hair was slicked back into a tight bun and she teamed the outfit with large silver earrings.
However, Luke wasn’t the only person to drag Katy for the wild outfit, as many fans on X shared their negative views.
One said: “You look stunning Katy but this dress? Well I honestly don’t know what to think. Lol you look amazing in it but it’s so…different?”
“Looks like Katy Perry was attacked by a pack of Velcro poodles,” another added.
A third fan commented: “That’s one hell of a dress, Katy.”
“You look so beautiful Kary – crazy dress and all! …not that you’re EVER bad!!!” wrote a kinder fan.
Katy decided to wear the tight but distracting outfit just weeks after fans thought she was hiding a baby bump.
She was seen on the set of a previous episode of Idol while wearing a flowy floral dress that hid her figure.
