Katie Holmes shows sensuality while making rare comments about her divorce from Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes showed a more feminine side to her new magazine cover.

In the April issue of InStyle magazine, the 41-year-old actress wore a black bra top with a skirt, which is more sensual than she’s shown in recent years. And she was honest about her fame, an event that addressed the stress she faced after Tom Cruise’s divorce in 2012 after six years of marriage.

“It was an intense time. It was a lot of attention and I had a small child on it, ” said the star. “We had fun moments in public. So many people I didn’t know became friends and helped us, and that’s what I love about the city.

Then she tells how she had to rely on a driver of cans.

“There was an incredible moment when I think I really cried. Suri was 6 or 7 and spent the night at a friend’s house while I saw the ballet at Lincoln Center. At 10 am, I received a call: “Mom, can you come and get me?”

“I took a taxi and went down to Battery Park to pick it up. She was exhausted. She fell asleep on the way back and when we stopped in our building, the taxi driver opened the door and helped me not to wake her up. He helped her carry her into the building. He was so nice.

Holmes did not hesitate to talk about how much she loves Suri.

‘I love him so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her in her individuality. To make sure she is 100% herself and strong, confident and capable. And to find out. She came out very strong – she was always a strong personality. She will choose an activity and work her buttocks until she is really good at it. Then she says, “OK, I’ll try the next thing.” She is very focused and hard working.

And she talked about the early years of Suri.

“I must say that I recently saw a fan site [about her] displayed when she was a baby, and it was very intense. We were followed a lot when she was little.

“ I just wanted her outside, so I was walking her around to find parks at 6 a.m. when no one saw us. But there is a video where I keep it – she was 2 years old at the time – and she begins to greet the cameras. She is quite special. ”

Katie is now 41 but continues to thrive in Hollywood as she makes several films a year. She seems grateful that the old rule that actresses generally don’t work for more than 40 years has disappeared.

“People say you don’t really know yourself until you are 40. I’m 41 years old. I saw things. I have experienced things, ”admitted the single mother.

“I know what I’m talking about and I know my feelings and ideas are worth it. I’m going to listen to myself instead of relying on someone else. It is a big step as a human. It takes time.’

Jamie Foxx’s ex is promoting his new movie The Secret: Dare to Dream, in theaters in April.

And she will soon be making her second film, Rare Objects, of which she is proud.

“Rare Objects has been in the works for four or five years. It hurts when you ask the opinion of the people you respect and they say it is not good. It’s like, “Can you be a little more specific? I’m not an idiot. Give me a helpful note instead of dissecting.”

“But every time someone says no, I keep going. I’m not going to do it, ”said the Dawson’s Creek veterinarian.

“I called my father to tell him the news when it was green, and he said,” It’s wonderful. Life is a real journey, and sometimes when things take time and you have to keep working hard, it just makes it a lot sweeter. I am really proud of you. “That’s all I needed to hear.

With her daughter Suri now 14 years old and out of her “girlie” phase, Holmes has more time for her career.

“I have been working in this field for some time. We both know that you have ups and downs, ”she said.

“Suri is 14 years old, so we went through the kind of girl stage. I feel like I can be more creative and have more time, have my voice. It’s sort of, just put your stuff in there and be yourself. But it takes time to be comfortable.

“Obviously, as a public figure, I have received a lot of attention at different times in my life. And when you have a lot of attention, sometimes you don’t want to leave the house because it’s just too much, ”she admitted.

“You may be absorbed by what people think, but suddenly you just decide to do things on your own terms. I seem to finally understand that. I get the projects I want to do and I just relax a little. I have been there for a long time and I have always been there! I can not believe. [laughs]. ”

She also talks about her early years in LA after leaving Ohio.

“I thought things were going to be really fun. My first day in Los Angeles was January 21, 1996. My mother and I were driving on Santa Monica Boulevard and we saw a large sign saying “Golden Globes”. So we went to sit on the stands in the rain to watch the movie stars arrive. We couldn’t believe what we had come across.

Holmes also said the actresses tried to keep their privacy private. Rather, they wanted to stay under the radar.

“When I started, it was all about being very mysterious,” said Katie.

“You were known by your work. There was a lot less attention in the 90s than there is today, and as a young actress, you just want to get the job. You want to be loved. You want a good grip and think, “Was I good enough?” ”

But now she really doesn’t need this feedback anymore.

“Over time, there is a transition. I now have my own confidence. I’m not looking for someone else to say “good job”. It’s more “What do we do?” It’s more collaborative, ”said Holmes.

And she explained how great New York City was for her and Suri.

“Yeah, and I’m having more fun. I’m going to take a class at the Broadway Dance Center. I’m going to the Joyce theater. I do hot yoga and boxing classes. I have a book club. The city has a lot to offer and I use it, ” said the Batman Begins star.

“Yes, sometimes it is a little too exposed, and we work hard to maneuver and navigate. But what I like in New York is that for me and my child, it’s our vibe. When there are 25 things to do each night, it comes out of your own thing. And you know what else I discovered? There is a place not far from my home that does foot massages until midnight. This is what New York offers!

And she had always wanted to live in Manhattan, she added.

“ We filmed here for my first job, The Ice Storm, when I was a junior in high school, and they put my mother and me in a hotel. I remember walking around the city with my parents after dinner one night and thinking, “I need an apartment here. I have to be here,” said Katie.
