Kate Ritchie’s bizarre tribute to ex-husband Stuart Webb as she eats their frozen wedding cake on what would have been their 12th anniversary

Kate Ritchie took a rather unusual trip down memory lane on Sunday as she thawed out a slice of her wedding cake from over a decade ago.

The day marked what would have been her 12-year anniversary with ex-husband, retired NRL player Stuart Webb, whom she divorced in 2020.

The former Home and Away star, 43, posted a photo on Instagram of the top slice of the cake, which had been frozen and wrapped in plastic since the ceremony.

She captioned, “Who’s still eating their wedding cake?” Why? And for what benefit? This is my defrost today.

The top tier of a wedding cake is traditionally kept for the newlyweds’ first anniversary and is believed to symbolize good luck and prosperity.

Many Kate followers were stunned that she kept her cake frozen for so long.

One fan said the cake was “part of your story” while another cheekily remarked that it “lasted longer than the wedding”.

Kate and Stuart started dating in 2008 and announced their engagement a year later.

The couple married in a ceremony in the countryside in Tasmania in 2010.

They separated in 2020 after 10 years of marriage, and the former child actress is said to have left their marital home in Sydney.
