Discussing the fact that 20 years have passed since How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Kate says if she would do a sequel: “We both [me and Matthew McConaughey] feel the same about it; if for some reason a great idea landed on our desk and read well, yes, I would totally revisit it.

“I love working with Matthieu. I don’t know… I’m sure it would start with a marital dispute. Or maybe… I have no idea. How to lose a husband in 20 years…?’

The couple also made a film together in 2008, titled Fool’s Gold, where they play Tess and Finn, an estranged husband and wife who rediscover their love for each other after embarking on an adventure to find a lost treasure.

Speaking about kissing in Fool’s Gold, she says, “It really wasn’t fun to shoot.”

“The ocean, swimming and kissing is not always pleasant. Things are happening in the ocean, like gross… we’re like surfing water trying to stay above water.

She adds: “Matthew and I had very romantic kisses and then we had very unromantic kisses. So a sequel would really bring some interesting things.

The actress added, “I love how real Matthew is…we kinda have a fighting spirit with each other, we know how to push each other.”

“We work hard, play hard. To me Matthew is so original and so authentically what you think he is is what he is.

Kate was joined on Jonathan Ross’ sofa with rapper Stormzy, singer Joan Armatrading and comedian Róisín Conaty.

She donned a fuchsia pink strapless dress with black tights and wore her blonde tresses in a glamorous bouncy curl and a face full of makeup.

While filming romantic scenes himself, Stormzy said of his Hide & Seek video, “Me and the crew said he had to be a top actor.” I’m a bad actor.

“The idea that I’m on set with someone who’s awkward and I’m awkward. We have saffron [Hocking] and she is a true professional. She really put me at ease and ran everything.

Stormzy then asks Kate, “When I see sex scenes, I’m like, ‘How do you do that? Of course, it’s your job, but… as an average bettor, it seems extremely difficult. Can there be… excitement… everyone thinks about it!

Kate laughs, “Interesting question. I think it’s so mechanical and there are so many people around.

“Usually they close the set and you have to talk about it and the boys wear belts. It’s very… hidden.

“It kind of takes the fun out of it, I guess. Sometimes it’s more enjoyable than other times. It just depends on the circumstances and how safe you feel with that actor and how safe the space is. It may become awkward.

Kate also talks about her mother Goldie Hawn and what she is like as a grandmother: “She’s involved, ish…she’s more like a tornado. It comes, tornadoes like rainbows, flowers and happiness, then it goes.

‘And you’re like, ‘Where did mum go?’ All the fun stuff. We are very co-dependent [she lives nearby].’

She adds, “She’s seven blocks from me. In fact, I bought the house I grew up in. My mother sold the house, we moved into another house, 12 years later I bought my mother’s house. What good memories.

Kate also reveals her experience of starring in her latest release – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery alongside Daniel Craig: “He’s so funny”. His physical comedy. I was really surprised at how comical he is in his body,” she exclaims.

‘He’s quite clumsy. I didn’t know Daniel at all and I only know him through his Bond films. He is so awesome.

After Jonathan teases that the next Bond is Stormzy, he reacts: “No, no, no… I would be so shitty. “Yo, I’m Bond”. It’s not that one. If only I could.’

Asked about Daniel Craig’s accent, Kate replies: “He does it very well. He works very hard there too. He comes to the set and he can go in and out of it so he doesn’t have to stay there.
