Kanye west filed his response to Kim kardashianhis ex-wife’s divorce petition, and it’s essentially a mirror image of his ex-wife’s legal documents.
Kanye is also asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4 children, just like Kim. FYI … shared custody doesn’t automatically mean a 50/50 split, and it’s likely Kim will get the lion’s share of the kids. They will almost certainly find an arrangement between themselves and have it approved by the court. They are both committed to co-parenting.
Kanye – along with Kim – wants to close the door on spousal support. Well, they can afford to fend for themselves.
He also says they should also pay their own legal fees.
As we have already reported, Kim and Kanye have a prenup, so there shouldn’t be a big problem with the division of assets. It’s interesting … Ye’s response comes on the heels of Forbes reporting that Kim has now reached billionaire status.
Kim filed for divorce February 19 … so Kanye is a little late in filing his response, although that doesn’t really matter as it won’t trigger any issues.
Kim did not put a separation date on her divorce papers. As for Kanye … he also did not give a date of separation.
Our sources say Kim and Kanye barely spoke in the months leading up to the divorce filing, but it looks like things are calmer now.
Chances are … they’ll sort it out privately with lawyers and business owners and file the settlement agreement when the ink is dry.
