Brazil legend Kaka says he liked what he saw from England as they demolished Iran 6-2 in the World Cup.
The former Real Madrid star has also revealed his belief that Neymar will shine in the tournament as the South Americans aim for their sixth world title.
England were one of the few favorites to start with a convincing victory and take the lead in Group B after the first game.
“The game I watched was really amazing,” he told talkSPORT.
“The first game was really good so for now I think he’s one of the favourites. The games I’ve watched, I think England and France, are the best so far.
Kaka, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, is also delighted to see his star man Neymar play in Qatar, the 30-year-old having scored twice in the previous tournament.
He is optimistic about what the Paris Saint-Germain winger could do this time around: “Neymar is ready, I think all the players are ready.
“Neymar, he knows his responsibility in this World Cup and I think he’s mature, he’s ready, he’s in good shape, so we’re going to see a very good performance from Neymar in this World Cup.”
Brazil kicked off their campaign on Thursday night against Serbia, with Switzerland and Cameroon being their other opponents in Group G.
They will be hoping to avoid a clash in their opener after watching their fellow South Americans lose to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
“It’s funny to see that,” Kaka said on the surprise result. “It’s a warning for us, for the Brazilians, for those who haven’t played yet.
“It’s important to understand what’s happening this World Cup, you have to be ready in 90 minutes, 97, because now the extra time is a bit longer so they have to be ready.”
England, on the other hand, are already preparing for their second World Cup game, with the United States their next opponent in Group B.
🤣 “It’s fun to see!”
🚨 “But this is an alert for Brazil and the others who haven’t played yet!”
