Agent Jorge Antun was in talks with the executive vice president of United at the club’s London office last summer as his Argentinian client thought about his options after failing to play as much football as he wanted in the last season of Massimiliano Allegri.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano of Calciomercato says Dybala called Antun to reaffirm his love for Juve and to distance himself from a move to England – no matter how much money was offered.
United were not the only Premier League team interested in Dybala, with Tottenham Hotspur looking to sign the 26-year-old. Dybala has good relations with his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino and the former boss of the Spurs was impatient to take him to north London.
