Juventus star Paulo Dybala canceled his transfer to Manchester United last summer – while his agent was in a meeting with Ed Woodward

Paulo Dybala has reportedly canceled his move to Manchester United while his representative was seated in Ed Woodward’s office.

Agent Jorge Antun was in talks with the executive vice president of United at the club’s London office last summer as his Argentinian client thought about his options after failing to play as much football as he wanted in the last season of Massimiliano Allegri.

Paulo Dybala chose not to move to the Premier League in the summer of 2019

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano of Calciomercato says Dybala called Antun to reaffirm his love for Juve and to distance himself from a move to England – no matter how much money was offered.

United were not the only Premier League team interested in Dybala, with Tottenham Hotspur looking to sign the 26-year-old. Dybala has good relations with his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino and the former boss of the Spurs was impatient to take him to north London.

Romano continues to claim that negotiations were underway between the Old Lady and United to bring Romelu Lukaku to Turin this summer, before completing his £ 75m transfer to Inter Milan.

The Belgian international has scored 23 goals in 34 games, with United struggling to replace the firepower it had lost this summer, Alexis Sanchez also leaving Old Trafford in the summer of 2019.

Marcus Rashford intervened in the absence of Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood playing the role of competent members of Parliament.

However, the English international is sidelined until next month at the earliest after suffering a stress fracture in the back. Although that means he will miss Sunday’s derby against Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is actually disturbed by this.

The Spaniard saw the 22-year-old terrorize his team in December, but he still wants to play against the strongest teams his opposing managers can face.

Guardiola said: “I have always said from day one that I have become a manager that I like to play against a full team of my opponents.

Martin Lipton has his say on Man United’s transfer policy

“I would have loved to play against Eden Hazard at the Bernabeu. And I don’t like to see Rashford or Kane against Tottenham.

“I prefer to play against the best players and all the players available, so it is not good for United and he is absent for the national team.

“I would have preferred him to play for them but I hope he can recover as quickly as possible.”
