Dana White has confirmed that Mark Coleman will make an appearance at UFC 300.

The former two-time UFC champion, who nearly died saving his parents from a fire that claimed the life of his dog, will play a key role at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

White usually crowns a new champion by wrapping a belt around his waist, but he took a different approach following previous fights for the BMF title, which will be on the line this weekend.

The Rock crowned Jorge Masvidal the first BMF champion in November 2019 and “Gamebred” was on hand to introduce him to Justin Gaethje when he became the BMF titleholder by knocking out Dustin Poirier last year.

Coleman will oversee the crowning ceremony following Gaethje’s first title defense against former featherweight king Max Holloway at UFC 300.

White confirmed Coleman’s role during a news conference Thursday.

“It’s done,” he said when a media member told him that Gaethje and Holloway wanted Coleman to wrap the BMF belt around their waists on fight night.

Coleman was always going to be at UFC 300 as White sent him a bunch of tickets to the historic event as a reward for his heroism.

“Wow this is special, thank you everyone,” he wrote on Instagram after learning he would now play a leading role in the series.

Holloway had lobbied for Coleman to give him the BMF belt.

“The only right answer is Mark Coleman,” Holloway told MMA Junkie when asked who should present the BMF title at UFC 300.

“Especially with what he’s been through recently with his dog and his dog waking him up to go save his stuff and he gets in there and runs for his dog?

Conor McGregor had a hilarious reaction to Max Holloway crashing his interview on a skateboard

“The guy is a G. He’s a real BMF. It would be sick if he did. It would be an honor to convince him to do so.

“I love him. Absolutely.” Gaethje said when asked if he liked Holloway’s idea during a later interview with MMA Junkie.

“The guy has fought so many times and he is such a warrior in the cage and in what he has been through. I would love for him to do that, it’s a great idea. Best idea Max has had for a long time, and he has a lot of good ideas.

“I haven’t spoken to the UFC at all [about Coleman] so I have no idea.

“I’m definitely going to enjoy it more than Masvidal put it on me after [beating Dustin Poirier in July]. I know that. Yeah, he’s a fucking loser.
