On January 27, 2023, Michael Goff filed his lawsuit against Bieber Time Touring, LLC and several others. The court document says Michael Goff is seeking $450,000.00 in the form of “special economic damages in the form of workers’ compensation benefits.”
In September 2022, The Blast reported that Justin Bieber’s company was being sued by a worker who claims he was hit by a car while unloading equipment.
The worker claims he was hit by a car while working on a truck. He had been tasked with unloading a tractor-trailer linked to Justin’s business.
Court documents state that “on or about July 26, 2021 (he) was unloading material from a tractor-trailer on or near Stanford Avenue in the City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County.” At the time, Goff alleges the truck was parked in a “two-way turn lane” and that he was hired to unload the load, which belonged “to” Bieber Tour Time LLC.
Worker claims Bieber’s company forced him to suffer ‘serious bodily harm’
Unfortunately, while unloading the semi-trailer truck, he was hit by an oncoming vehicle on the street. Goff now claims the truck was controlled “negligently, recklessly, recklessly, clumsily and unlawfully”, resulting in him being run over by the car.
Interestingly, Goff doesn’t go into detail about the injuries he sustained in the crash. However, he says Bieber’s “unlawful conduct” of business caused him “serious bodily harm”.
Consequently, the worker says he experienced and continues to experience “pain and suffering” as a result of the accident.
At the time, the worker was looking for Bieber Touring Time LLC to cover medical expenses and any “other medical expenses” he needed. If that wasn’t enough, the lawsuit came just weeks after the “Lonely” singer announced he would be canceling his Justice World Tour.
Justin Bieber postpones his Justice World Tour
In September 2022, Justin Bieber announced that he had to postpone his Justice World Tour. Last spring, fans may recall that the Canadian pop star was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which caused partial paralysis on one side of his face.
At the time, he uploaded a video to Instagram that showed him unable to move one side of his face. “I can’t smile on this side of my face…that nostril won’t move,” he said, revealing that he could also only blink one eye.
“I wish it weren’t, but obviously my body is telling me I need to slow down. I hope you understand and I’ll use this time to rest and relax and come back to one hundred percent so that I can get back to doing what I was born to do,” he told his fans. “But, in the meantime, that’s not it.”
Although the “Beauty and a Beat” singer began performing again in late July and throughout August, the “Baby” singer continued to struggle with her physical and mental health, which caused him to unplug the rest of his world tour.
Justin will “take a break” and focus on “improving”
In a statement posted to his Instagram Stories, the 28-year-old singer revealed that he had to put his tour on hold due to his medical condition.
“Earlier this year I went public with my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partially paralyzed,” he began. “Due to this illness, I was unable to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour.”
“After resting and seeing my doctors, family and crew, I went to Europe with the aim of continuing the tour. I did six live shows, but it cost me a lot,” said he revealed, “Last weekend I played Rock in Rio and gave everything I had to the Brazilian people.”
“After coming off stage, exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I had to make my health the priority right now,” he continued. “So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’ll be fine, but I need time to rest and get better.
“I was so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world,” he concluded. “Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this! I love you all passionately!
