Jurgen Klopp left furious as the fan ran onto the pitch as Liverpool sought the winning goal against Crystal Palace

A fan invading the pitch left Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wild as he stopped play in the dying minutes of his side’s draw with Crystal Palace.

With the scores level at 1-1 and time running out, the Reds were chasing a winner at Anfield four minutes after stoppage time.

And as Liverpool staged an attack in an attempt to grab the three points, a fan ran onto the turf at Anfield – much to Klopp’s dismay.

“There’s an idiot on the pitch,” said talkSPORT co-commentator for the game, Sam Matterface.

“The referee now has to stop the game and this idiot is now barracked by Jurgen Klopp.

“He’s been shouted and shouted at by the German manager because he’s just cost his side the chance to shape an attack in the dying seconds of a Premier League game they’re not going to win now.”

Before play resumed, boos rang out around Anfield as the supporter was guided off the pitch by stewards.

With just under two minutes to play, Liverpool were unable to double their goalscoring tally, meaning Palace talisman Wilfred Zaha’s opening strike was enough to let his side share the spoils.

Monday night’s result marks Liverpool’s second draw in as many games since the start of the new Premier League campaign, their worst start to a season in ten years.

However, they have the chance to secure a first win of the season when they take on struggling Manchester United on Monday, live on talkSPORT.

The Reds chased a winner despite playing with ten men following Darwin Nunez’s red card.

“It’s not common for you to put a team under as much pressure as we did [when it is 10vs11]. “But we did it and it was good. So now we have one more point than before the game.
