If rumors are to be believed, Dwayne Johnson is allegedly asking Sony for a pay raise for Jumanji 3. Latest reports claim he’s asking for more money than Robert Downey Jr got in Avengers: Endgame.
The Jumanji series has been one of the biggest lucrative franchises in recent times. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level worked their magic at the box office. The second film in Dwayne Johnson’s all-star franchise had previously hinted that a third film was in the works. As fans wait for an update on the project, a new report claims The Rock is demanding a huge paycheck for his third appearance in the Jumanji series.
Via We Got This Covered, insider Daniel Richtman claims the actor is asking for a huge sum to return as Dr Smolder Bravestone. If the report is to be believed, Dwayne is asking for a salary that exceeds the amount Robert Downey Jr. was paid for Avengers: Endgame. According to reports, RDJ received a sum of $ 75 million which included performance-related bonuses and downstream profit-sharing agreements, which increased its revenue and income.
Infinity Saga grossed over $ 1 billion, which was way higher than Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level combined. Unless Sony plans to pay The Rock $ 75 million for Jumanji 3, which seems unlikely, “its profit share should be at least doubled, if not tripled,” the report notes.
The international actor has already earned a salary of $ 23.5 million in his previous two outings before his included bonuses. So Dwayne’s salary demands should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, if the actor gets a pay raise, it wouldn’t be a surprise. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
