Julija Stoliarenko is happy to take it step by step

She will make her first trip of 2024 to the Octagon this weekend when she faces Luana Carolina at UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Imavov. Beating Carolina on the heels of her win over McCann would give Stoliarenko something she’s been eyeing for a long time: her first winning streak in the UFC.

Stoliarenko believes the Carolina matchup comes at the right time, with both fighters having similar records and experience. She knows Carolina will look to shut down her jiu jitsu game, but that won’t stop her from executing her game plan and seeking her 11th career submission victory.

This is exactly the test she wants to pass to show she’s ready to make 2024 her best year in the Octagon.

“I still have a lot of time in my career and I just want to make sure I’m doing the right things. If I get two wins in a row, it will show me that I am on the right track,” Stoliarenko said. “I really want to do this. I really want to make my mark in the UFC and finally take serious action here. It’s not enough to win then lose, then win then lose. No, I want to be a serious fighter and take it step by step. I want to be sure of my next steps, like a contract, etc. I don’t want to have these worries, I just want to fight.
