Jude Bellingham could fend off any attempt by Premier League sides and join Real Madrid, it has been revealed.
The 19-year-old is believed to be Los Blancos’ main target for the summer of 2023.
Real Madrid have adopted a new transfer policy in recent years by acquiring young talents.
The 14-time Champions League winners have demonstrated this by signing Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to Marca, Bellingham are next in line at the club that have managed the talented teenager since his days at Birmingham City in 2019.
The report claims that Carlo Ancelotti’s side first made contact with Borussia Dortmund during his tenure last year when it was unsure whether Tchouameni would sign.
The added financial burden on potential signing Kylian Mbappe meant the club decided against trying to sign the England international.
Real Madrid have finally finalized the transfer of Tchouameni, and the Spanish champions have also asked Bellingham and his representatives not to renew the player’s contract with Dortmund.
The Stourbridge-born midfielder hasn’t put paper on a new deal as he awaits offers ahead of a proposed move elsewhere.
A move to Real Madrid would be a blow to Premier League sides interested in his services.
Manchester and Liverpool clubs have been linked with him in the past, with Jurgen Klopp keen to bring Bellingham to Anfield as part of a midfield overhaul.
The Reds would need to act quickly to get their man, however, with the contracts of Luka Modric, 37, Toni Kroos, 32, and Dani Ceballos running out soon.
Real’s failure to sign a replacement for Casemiro, who joined Manchester United in the summer in an £80m deal, seems to indicate an imminent move from a new central midfielder with the English star likely to be part of the conversation.
A move to Los Blancos would see Bellingham join Camavinga, Valverde and Tchouameni, in what could become one of Europe’s most dominant midfielders for years to come.
The Dortmund star is believed to be available for just £83million, and it’s still a mystery as to where Bellingham will be plying his trade next season.
