In an interview with Dujour News published ahead of the release of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2”, Josh Hutcherson shared his experiences working on the franchise. When discussing his least favorite part of filming the show, Hutcherson complained about having to dye his hair blonde. Described in the first book ‘Hunger Games’ by Suzanne Collins as having “ash blonde hair that falls in waves across her forehead”, it was a crucial part of her look that the team that made the film adaptations couldn’t. Leave besides. For her part, Hutcherson said of the experience, “My hair was an orange-brown color for a while. It was almost like frosted ends in the ’90s.” Needless to say, once filming for “Mockingjay – Part 2” wrapped, Hutcherson reportedly opted to go for a blonde haircut.
Hutcherson’s time on set, however, still looks like a pretty positive experience. He described sleepovers with co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, as well as a general sense of camaraderie among the cast. “Every town we went to, our little group would go out to dinner,” Hutcherson explained. “We used to go to bars together. It was a mobile unit. I’m definitely going to miss that a lot.” Although he doesn’t like his dye job, it’s good to know that Hutcherson and company made the most of their time together.
